Enigmas of the Puna and of the Andes

A trip for the lovers of the adventure. Extensive routes between the vast Puna and the Mountain range of the Andes, arriving at the landscapes more inhospitable and never imagined. Volcanos, salares, dunes, lagoons of height, vicunas, flames, great small mountains and towns scattered in the immensity.

Program

First day. La Rioja - Fiambalá.

Reception in the Airport of the City of the Rioja. Route towards the Mountain range of Famatina, being able to observe the great ones snowed. Lunch. We will continue by the sierras to Tinogasta y Fiambalé, which are our destiny. Access to the spas. Hosting in the hotel and dinner..

Second day. Green Lagoon.

We will undertake a long-haul to make our first entrance at the Catamarqueña's Puna. The objective is the gorgeous Lagoon Green located at 4.300 meters and on the foot of Monte Pissis (6.882 meters.), the tallest volcano of the world. Lunch. At the journey back we will stop in a camel natural reserve placed in the Chaschuil Valley and in the strange stone formations of its river. Return to the Hostel of Fiambalé. Supper.

Third day. Fiambalá - Belén.

After having breakfast, we will start off for an old way that took through Cuesta de Zapata, arriving at the town of Londres. Lunch. We will visit the Ruins of Shinka and other small towns of the region. Hosting in the hotel and dinner.

Fourth day. Belén - White Lagoon.

A new ascent to the Catamarqueña's Puna will lead us to the landscapes of the White Lagoon, a place inhabited by vicuñas. Lunch. In the course of afternoon we will accede to the White Corral where we will have the opportunity to share one night with the people of the place, a unique experience in a site of characteristic resemblances. We will make a brief trekking to recognize the zone and at night we will eat the typical food of the region: cabritos, calls, calf and trouts. We will be hosted in a hosting house.

Fifth day. White Lagoon - Antofagasta de la Sierra.

Our passage by the continuous will continue by the Puna to the West, the region of volcanos. We will approach the pumice stone field, pasing by El Piñón. Lunch. We will retake the way towards Antofagasta avoiding the great dumps. Lodging in hostería. Supper.

Sixth day. Antofagasta de la Sierra - San Antonio de los Cobres.

Very early in the morning we will initiate the trip towards Antofalla, the town after the salt mine that remained hidden per years and that did not appear in maps until year 2000. A brief visit before the great trip until San Antonio of Cobres. Lunch. Many kilometers in which we will have to cross salares and extensive plains leaving to our step rural schools and almost uninhabited small villages. The passage by Santa Rosa of the Great Grass indicated the proximity to our destiny. Lodging in hotel and supper.

Seventh day. San Antonio de los Cobres - Molinos.

Taking the morning as rest, we eat for lunch and we begin our travels to Abra of the Acay (4895 meters) and towards the Calchaquíes Valleys happening through the Poma and Cachi. Lodging and has supper in Inn of Mills.

Eighth day. Molinos - Salta.

The last day of our adventure by the Puna leads us to Salta, crossing the Hill of the Bishop. Lunch. Brief view of the Embalse Goat Corral. Access to the City of Salta. Lodging in hotel. Supper of goodbye. Aim of our services.-
