An interesting proposal that combines the varied and vast geography of the
argentinean Puna with the Forest of the Yunga.
Routes by typical Puneños towns and the exuberance of a mysterious
forest. Territory that urges us to recall its customs and that invites to
the adventure.
Program
First day. San Miguel de Tucumán.
Reception in the airport of the City of San Miguel de Tucumén. Check-in
in hotel and lunch. City Tour by the city. Supper.
Second day. San Miguel de Tucumán - Molinos.
Exit by the Tucuman forest towards Tafí of the Valley and ascent to
Open of the Infiernillo, arriving at Amaicha of the Valley. Access to the
Ruins of Quilmes. We continue the trip towards Tolombón zone of vineyards,
old home-made production zones and indigenous ruins. Lunch. Itinerary to Molinos
by the Calchaquíes Valleys, crossing small and colorful towns (sowing
cultures of grapevine and of pimentón). Lodging and supper in Molinos
Hotel, in front of a church that dates from the XVII century.
Third day. Molinos - San Antonio de los Cobres.
Visit to the Archaeological Museum of Cachi, view of the snowed hill of Cachi
and Devil's Throat. Lunch. We continue by the Poma and we ascend to Abra of
Acay (4895 meters). Access to San Antonio of Cobres, lodging and having supper
in Hotel of Clouds.
Fourth day. San Antonio de los Cobres - Yavi.
Exit to Susques, town of indigenous origin and importance miner, passing
through the Viaduct of the Polvorilla (Train of the clouds) and the pueblito
Sey. Lunch. Then, journey to Casabindo, where the Cathedral of the Puna is
located, as also a singular seat of bulls. We continue the route towards Yavi,
lodging and having supper in a hotel.
Fifth day. Yavi - Iruya.
We undertake a large trip by the bordering zone with Bolivia, where we can
see numerous small towns like Casira (the potter), Piscuno (half Argentinan,
half Bolivian) and Santa Catherine. Then we follow towards the Mountain range
of Zenta. Lunch. Routes by colorful Pampas of height and landscapes. Access
to Iruya. Lodging and supper in its warm hotel.
Sixth day. Iruya - Calilegua.
We began the descend towards Tilcara and Purmamarca, sites that go back to
Incas' Era. Brief trip by its streets. Lunch. We continue by the lagoons of
Yala towards the city of San Salvador of Jujuy and from there we will be entering
in the zone of the forest. Lodging and has supper in Calilegua.
Seventh day. Calilegua - Las Lajitas.
Access to the National Park Calilegua, where we will be able to enjoy the
dense forest. Route towards a small town located in the Great Valley, where
an old inca way was placed a long time ago. Lunch. Direct trip towards the
Lajitas, bordering the mountain ranges of Santa Bárbara. Lodging and
has supper in Hotel The Lajitas.
Eighth day. Las Lajitas - Salta.
Journey by the National Park The King, located in another cornet of Forest
of the Yunga. Lunch.
Itinerary towards Cabra Corral. Final destiny in the City of Salta. Lodging
and supper in Hotel Salta.
