North Landscapes - "Puna and Forest"

An interesting proposal that combines the varied and vast geography of the argentinean Puna with the Forest of the Yunga.
Routes by typical puneños towns and the exuberance of a mysterious forest. Territory that urges us to recall its customs and it invites to the adventure.

Program

First day. San Miguel de Tucumán.

Reception in the airport of the City of San Miguel de Tucumén. Check-in in hotel and lunch. City Tour and a trip to San Javier's Hill. Supper.

Second day. San Miguel de Tucumán - Cafayate.

Travel by the Tucuman's forest towards the easts of the Tala river. Ascent to Great Pampas. Pass by the particular town of Guachitas. Route by the Gorge of the Shells until Cafayate. Hotel The Rose.

Third day. Cafayate - Cachi (La Paya).

Circuit "Vineyards of Height", Colomé. Passage by Molinos (church and antique house), Seclantés (looms). Arrival to Cachi. Hotel Cachi or The Paya.

Fourth day. Cachi (La Paya) - Susques.

Ascent to Abra of the Acay by the route 40, next to the Calchaquí river, arriving at 4895 meters. We continue going into the Puna and we arrive at San Antonio of Cobres. Soon, we follow the way of North by the Viaduct "the Polvorilla" until arriving at Susques, passing near remote pueblitos like Sey and Pastos Chicos. Hotel The Unquillar.

Fifth day. Susques - Purmamarca.

We descend by the Gorge of Las Burras rivers until the Great Salt mines. Route by the sinks of extraction of salt. Soon, continuing to the East, we will enter in Cuesta de Lipan, by which we will arrive to the typical town of Purmamarca. Hotel the Spring of Silencio.

Sixth day. Purmamarca - Iruya.

Retaking to the North, we enter the Gorge of Humahuaca, passing through old towns like Tilcara and Uquía. Leaving Humahauca of the return, we will turn aside towards Santa Victoria Hill, to be able to arrive at Iruya. Hotel Iruya..

Seventh day. Iruya - Humahuaca.

We return to the town of Humahuaca after the noon. Hotel Way of the Inca.

Eighth day. Humahuaca - Orán.

We start one of most spectacular routes towards Abra of Zenta, a passage of height located in the 4000 meters of alttitude, and from it the extensive nuboselva or Forest of the Yungas can be appreciated. Tracks little journeyed will drive us in a quick descend towards the 600 meters, while we observe spectacular landscapes. Towards the end of the day we will arrive at the city of Orén.

Ninth day. Orán - Salta.

Journeying the route 34, we undertake the trip to our final destiny, city of Salta. Hotel Salta.

Total distance (approximated) to cross: 2300 km.

It includes:

Transfers in vehicles Land Rover Defender and Toyota Hilux with CHF communication equipment.

Not included:

Transfers from Bs As. to Tucumán and from Salta to Bs As.
